Geo Site Surveys believe in investing for the future and with this in mind we have purchased a new Dando 2000 Mk.2 Cable drilling rig, we have also bought 2 new front ends for our windowless sampling rigs. All rigs have up to date SPT calibration certification.
All drilling rigs and vehicles are constantly serviced & maintained, this means we can offer our customers minimum down time on site.
In the last 12 months we have completed a number of exciting projects including:
- Gary Neville’s new (10 ten-storey) hotel opposite Man U at Old Trafford.
- Wind farm surveys in Peterborough & Cumbria.
- Working for well known supermarkets on new builds, petrol forecourts and working inside stores using our electric window sampling rig.
- We have also completed a dynamic probing survey (130 positions at 5 metre grids to depth of between 5-10 metres) on a former tyre factory in Birmingham for a new house builder.

March 2012
Working on the canal footpath at West Houghton, Lancashire we completed 2 cable holes to 15 metres deep on one side using our Dando 150 cable rig.
Our clients had erected a metal fence on the opposite side as there were signs of possible subsidence, this meant that we could not get to the relevent positions. We got around this by using a cut down cable rig that had to be winched to position (100 metres to furthest point) and assembled to drill 2 holes to 15 metres deep with installations.
This was completed in four days. |

Geo Site Surveys completed a number of Rotary open holes in a former supermarket in Walsall near Birmingham.
The store had limited head room of 4.5 metres and the ground conditions were sands and gravels. The answer was to drill using a down the hole hammer with Odex casing system. Four holes to 12 metres were drilled in 2 days with installations installed. |

January 2012
Geo Site Surveys rotary drilled through floor slap and 1.5 metres of frozen ground in temperatures of -30c in a freezer warehouse at a Cake factory in Bury Lancashire.
Earlier attempts to window sample the ground had failed as the concrete floor was lifting and cracking the investigation need to be done. Therefore we had to use our rotary rig using soiled stem augers.
This was successful and the holes were completed in a single day. |

March 2011
GSS won a tender for a Soil vapour survey(S.V.S
) along a 5km pipe line in Gibraltar.
The pipe ran from the
docks through the M.O.D base and into the town centre. The
pipe line was surveyed & traced using Ground probing Radar
(Straight line surveys), we then drilled 16mm diameter holes
to a depth of 300mm along the pipe line route (approximately
every 50 metres ) and a gas samples were taken.
The contract
was completed in 3 weeks, working days, nights & weekends. |

We added Rotary drilling to our list of services.
This addition means you can get most of your drilling requirements
with just one phone call.
With diminsions of 900mm widith
, 3200 mm long and a clearance working height 3500mm. Capabile
of drilling upto 40 metres deep it is suitable for smaller
sites with restricted access.
We continue to offer alternative solutions to site
problems by the introduction of our new All-terrain (eight
wheel driven) rig which can be used on sites that have previously
not been suitable for tracked rigs.

We added an electric powered rig for windowless sampling/dynamic
probing which has been successfully used in supermarkets,
airports and buildings where diesel powered rigs were not
suitable due to contamination of foods, clothing etc. from
exhaust fumes.
